Found these packs of flocked styrofoam lumps at my local Dollar Tree store for a buck, so decided to make some trees:
Decided to use real twigs for the trunks:
To insert the trunks, I stabbed an X shape into the styrofoam ball with an exacto knife. They fit so snugly I didn’t bother gluing the treetops onto the trunks:
Attached the trees to the base with hot glue. Threw pennies in there for weight because I’m out of washers:
There was one ball shape I didn’t like as a treetop, so I cut it in half with a hot wire cutter and made 2 bushes:
And the final result, after flocking and decorating the bases:
